About a days work in Maya, its crazy complex for me but im getting there..

) Yes its true XSI its still brilliant, but the best tools are no good if theres nothing to go with them, the sheer lack of rigs has finally driven me over to Maya. Such a lucky move to be honest. My friend didnt convince me enough about Maya’s strengths, I believe him now haha. (few hours work from never using Maya..)

After a long hard decision I’ve decided Max is just too much of a hindarence for me to learn animation the pace I want too. So alas its been a good few months and yeah im comfy now in max, I just hate all the hoop jumpin you have to do.

Currently ive got my rig walking upto a box at an angle and i want him to push this box along slightly and then for it finally to give and flip on its edge, which isnt straight on to him. The picture best explains it as im having hella problems setting up the link relationship properly between the boxs pivot and this extra pivot. Currently pivot 1 can work fine but soon as i rotate pivot 2 the box goes skewif in a really wierd way. Im going to go about it a different way but Id definately like to know how to get by this in future.

Life sucks, then it throws you a lowball right for the knackers. After months of sorting bills/life etc out I’ve had enough. Stood on my own two feet quite well but just didnt have time to aim for my career, so now im at my parents trying to make it, and I really will be making it, nothing drives a person more than failure, or the thought of it.
So after months of twiddling thumbs, I got back into animation, It was hard, I kept putting it off thinking it was a goner, but here’s step Uno bloody One, the ball, a’bouncing.
Yes it isnt pretty, yes it isnt disney esque, and yes its green, can only get better.
On another note ive come to the realization, i dont exactly need a webhost no more, currently im with 1&1 who are cleary definately not with me, more my wallet. But with my super dooper phone, flickr, youtube, and webblog, who really needs to pay these assholes?

An early experiment on how well I could learn UV mapping, Rigging and exporting to source from Max. Went quite well except for not being able to figure out Valves new texture wrapper. Clicky for animation. (And yes it all works in game!)
